Mike Barth, Sr. founded Barth Electric Company in 1945.
The first offices were located at 804 Virginia Avenue. The Company moved its operations to 2407 North Illinois Street in 1951. In 1956 the Company reorganized from a sole proprietorship to a corporation. Today Barth Electric remains a closely held Family Corporation.
By 1989 continued prosperity had prompted yet another move to larger facilities under the guidance of Mike Barth Jr. That year, the Barth operations relocated to 1934 North Illinois Street, a continuing example of its commitment to the near-north side of Indianapolis. Today, Barth Electric Co., is one of the leading electrical construction companies in the Midwest.
Presently with Mike Barth III at the helm, the office and warehouse operations of Barth Electric occupy a full city block and employ 75 on-site personnel in addition to over 300 field electricians. In 2020, Barth Electric is celebrating its 75th anniversary of providing the highest level of personal and professional services.

Mike has been with the firm since 1973 and has held positions in the warehouse, electrician’s helper, Estimator, Contract Manager and Executive Vice President prior to his current position. He is a member of BOMA, Electric League of Indiana, Near North Development Corporation, Federated Electrical Contractors, Associated General Contractors, NECA and the Better Business Bureau. Mike has been very active in our community and supports the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis, Boy Scouts, Masonic Movement and the Downtown Kiwanis Club.
Michael G. Barth, III
president & CEO
Brian has been a member of the Barth Team since 1983. He has his BA from Indiana University and his BS from Purdue University and is a Licensed Master Electrician in both Indianapolis and Nashville Tenn. He is also accredited with LEED. He is a member with International Association of Electrical Inspectors, Construction Specification Institute, Illuminating Engineering Society, National Fire Protection Association, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, American Institute of Architects and National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Deb is currently the CFO for the company, and is a Certified Public Accountant with over 30 years of experience. She has experience in both the Profit and Not for Profit segment of the industry. She received her BA from Ball State University and did her graduate accountant work at Indiana University. She is a licensed instrument rated pilot and certified ground instructor. She holds memberships with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Indiana Certified Public Accountants Society and the American Running Association. She is also a member of the Hamilton County Master Gardeners Association.
Mike has been a member of the Barth team since 1997. He is a graduate of the IBEW apprenticeship school and is a member of IBEW 481. He has previously held positions in our company as electrician, and Forman.
